About Jing

Jing Collum is a graduate of The University of Texas at Tyler, where she earned her MBA with a focus on organizational development. She currently holds a leadership position within the federal judiciary, where she oversees administrative operations and long-term development initiatives. She is also the co-owner of SidNetworks and Beyond Targets Events.

Born and raised in China, Jing arrived in the United States in 2002 barely speaking English and knowing no one. In the years that followed, she faced the unimaginable: a difficult divorce, the fear of raising a newborn completely alone, the challenge of overcoming a language barrier, and navigating a system she did not yet understand. At her lowest point, with no job, no money, no family nearby, and no clear path forward, she found support through the East Texas Crisis Center.

Determined to rebuild, Jing began working full time during the day while attending school at night. As a single mother, she put herself through college step by step, eventually earning her associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, and finally, her MBA. In 2011, she was honored with the Karan’s Choice Award by the East Texas Crisis Center, a recognition of the strength and courage it took to survive and rise.

Today, Jing gives back to the very community that once gave her hope. She has served on the board of the East Texas Crisis Center for the past 17 years and is the founder of Beyond Targets Events, an organization that hosts benefit sporting clay shoots to raise funds and awareness for nonprofits.

On May 17, 2025, at her inaugural Reloading Hope Benefit Shootout, Jing stood before a crowd of hundreds and shared her story raw, unfiltered, and full of grace. Lana Peacock, former Executive Director of the East Texas Crisis Center, said, “In all my years with ETCC, I have never heard such a powerful and moving testimony. Not just what you had to endure, but your strength and character to overcome so much and accomplish so much. You knocked it out of the ballpark.” The event generated significant support for the Crisis Center and has already been recognized as one of the biggest and best-organized fundraising shoots in East Texas.

Jing’s life is not a story of having everything figured out. It is a story of falling apart, standing back up, and learning that hope can still find you in the darkest place. Today, her mission is simple: to give others what she once needed most.
