Smith Wimberley

As a lifelong resident of Smith County and Tyler, Texas, Smith has always believed in supporting the community when times get tough. He is proud to serve on the committee for the 2nd Annual Reloading Hope Shootout, benefiting the East Texas Crisis Center, Hope Haven of East Texas, and HOPE Jacksonville. These organizations provide essential shelter, counseling, advocacy, and hope to individuals and families facing violence, trauma, and crisis throughout East Texas.

This cause is deeply personal to Smith. A dear friend of his found life-changing support through the East Texas Crisis Center during an overwhelming season, and seeing that impact firsthand strengthened his commitment to this mission. After retiring from a 31-year career with the U.S. District Court, Smith now cherishes time with his wife, their children, and their four granddaughters. Still, his heart for service remains strong, especially when it comes to helping ensure that every woman and family in our community has a safe place to turn when life feels unbearable.

The East Texas Crisis Center, Hope Haven of East Texas, and HOPE Jacksonville help build safer futures for individuals and families in crisis. Events like Reloading Hope help make that work possible. Smith is honored to help raise awareness and funds so more people can access the compassionate support they deserve.
